1-cabin Standard junk
Traditional 13.50 m junk which can use its sails, weather permitting. Very simple installations : one lounge-dining room which becomes in the evening a bedroom for up to 4 people, no air conditioning, but ventilation by windows and fans, one toilet, shower on the deck, hot water on request. Small stern sundeck.
2-cabin Deluxe junk
Traditional 24-m junk which can use its sails, weather permitting. 20-sqm lounge and two elegantly decorated 14-sqm cabins (one double and one twin). Each cabin has its own bathroom. 30-sqm upper sundeck with beach chairs.
2-cabin Standard junk
18-m junk with 2 decorative sails. Each cabin has one large bed, one small one, (the junk can accommodate up to 6 people), and its own bathroom, the decoration, comfort, and onboard services being less sophisticated than on our own high standing private junk Oriental Sun. No air-conditioning (natural and fan ventilation). Upper sundeck with beach chairs.

THE TRANSFERS FROM HA NOI TO CAT BA ISLAND (HALONG BAY)
Oriental Sun starts from the island of Cat Ba. To reach the island from Ha Noi, you have the choice between 2 solutions:
• Private car Hanoi-Haiphong and boat Haiphong-Cat Ba Island
Departure from your Ha Noi hotel around 6 AM and transfer to Hai Phong, then boat from Hai Phong to Cat Ba. Return by boat from Cat Ba to Haiphong and car from Hai Phong to your Ha Noi hotel. This solution allows more time to visit Cat Ba Island.
• Local bus Ha Noi- Haiphong and boat Haiphong-Cat Ba Island
Car from your Ha Noi hotel to the local bus Ha Noi-Haiphong, then boat Haiphong-Cat Ba. Return by the same route for the standard junk, through Halong City for the 2-cabin deluxe.
• Private car Hanoi-Haiphong and boat Haiphong-Cat Ba Island
Departure from your Ha Noi hotel around 6 AM and transfer to Hai Phong, then boat from Hai Phong to Cat Ba. Return by boat from Cat Ba to Haiphong and car from Hai Phong to your Ha Noi hotel. This solution allows more time to visit Cat Ba Island.

Our English-speaking guide meets you at your hotel for the transfer from Hanoi to Cat Ba Island. Arrival in Cat Ba around 12:00, boarding on your private junk. Seafood lunch while the junk starts sailing through Lan Ha Bay, a protected site part of Cat Ba National Park. We then enter Halong Bay, sailing towards isolated islands, cruising through passages inaccessible to larger boats. We stop on a isolated small beach for swimming and/or kayaking weather permitting. Visit of the Hang Ca Lagoon, accessible by a small craft through a tunnel. Delicious seafood diner and night on board in Lan Ha Bay.
Day 2: LAN HA BAY - HA NOI
Breakfast on board; we sail through Lan Ha Bay, approaching islets and peaks as close as possible. Visit of a floating fishing farm village. Lunch on board. We disembark in Cat Ba around 12:00, and then return to Ha Noi, where you arrive at your hotel around 18:00.

We spend the day navigating, swimming, kayaking, having lunch on board, and just relaxing. Day 3: 1-cabin and 2-cabin junk: LAN HA BAY – HAI PHONG - HA NOI
Breakfast on board while sailing through Lan Ha Bay, approaching islets and peaks as close as possible. Visit of a floating fishing farm village. Lunch on board while we continue sailing through the magic Lan Ha Bay to return to Cat Ba Island. Disembarkment and return to Hanoi, where you arrive at your hotel around 18:00.
Day 3: 2-cabin deluxe junk : BAI TU LONG AND HALONG BAYS - HALONG CITY - HA NOI
After the night on board in Bai Tu Long Bay, the junk crosses Halong Bay to reach Halong City Harbor. We then take the road back to Hanoi, with a stop to visit the Dong Trieu Pottery Village. Return at your Hanoi hotel end of the afternoon.

Recent 19.50-meter junk. 3 cabins (2 doubles and one twin), each with its own bathroom. Lounge-restaurant and sundeck with deckchairs on the upper deck.
The junk is very ecologic, with real sails allowing navigation without the engine if there is enough wind and solar panels to recharge the batteries used for the cabins lighting and fans at night (no generator running).
